On behalf of Rijkswaterstaat, Nebest and ATI Abseiltechnieken carried out inspection work on the Keizersveer Bridges on 20 and 21 June 2022. The inspection work on the Keizersveer bridges is necessary because it is being investigated whether these bridges can be given a third life.
This is because the six bridge sections that have connected the banks of the Bergsche Maas near Raamsdonksveer since the 1970s were previously part of the Moerdijk bridge in the A16 national highway over the Hollands Diep. To enable the road widening of the A27 between Houten and the Hooipolder interchange, we are building a new Keizersveer bridge. With the help of the National Bridge Bank, we are therefore looking for a new owner for the old bridge. This is because the Keizersveer bridges are still in technically good condition, so they could probably last many more years in another location.
